Camping with the scouts

Well the Brescias are on their first camping trip this weekend at "Scoutland" near Lake Lanier with literally hundreds of other Boy Scouts and their families.

We arrived last night around 6:00 pm and unloaded and pitched tents. The boys had a great time running around the campsite for hours playing cops and robbers in the dark with flashlights!

We roasted marshmallows, made s'mores and cooked Hpt Dogs on the bonfire. Yummy!

Lights out was around 9:30 or 10. I am not entirely sure which because we unplugged. It was great. Sleep however, was not readily available. Not much too be had by anyone... And we thought morning could not come fast enough. 7 am was loudly announced by talking and yelling, zippers, and clanging.

Breakfast began with cold Poptarts, and Nutrigrain Bars, but followed by "Toad in the hole", bacon, and Pancakes due to the generosity of others. Most importantly we got COFFEE.

Breakfast came and went, then it was time for the Flag ceremony, announcements, and Prayer. The boys ran and played, and now, we are in line for Archery. Not too shabby for our first camping experience. Eh?
